In the last few years, machine translation has been seen as the enemy by many translators, but it does not have to be this way. In this presentation, we are going to look at how it is possible to raise your income by post-editing the results from a Rule-Based Machine Translation (RBMT) software hosted in your computer.
Instead of a threat, we are going to see just how helpful machine translation is as a tool for productivity boost when properly used following optimum criteria.
Delegates will be shown ways to integrate machine translation and CAT tools, emphasising glossary details and rules to produce great results in Rule-Based Machine Translation.
The main idea of this presentation is to emphasise the use of a proprietary machine translation software instead of Google Translate or Bing Translator which can be accessed through many CAT tools; these resources could cause a problem with your NDA and expose customers’ data.
Focus will be on specific software, such as ProMT and memoQ, but you will also learn how to fully integrate other MT and CAT tools, so that you can create your own workflow with your favourite software.
Delegates will learn how to prepare a document to be machine translated, how to deal with post-editing and how to change software rules and improve translation quality.
While this presentation will target specially seasoned translators, newcomers will also learn a lot about how they can deal with machine translation, post-editing, and how to improve results achieved by RBMT software.
