Ann Davis has an MA in Sociology, practising  as a BSL/English interpreter since 1990. She began working at Glasgow Deaf Society in 1985, learning BSL as a second language. She had worked in Theatre, Political Conferences, Higher Education and Employment settings before developing RSI in 1993. She was a service Manager at Strathclyde Regional Council, for 13 years, with a staff of 12 covering every domain from the cradle to the grave.

She was the Training Officer with SASLI and has been an Assessor, Mentor and Researcher before returning to the Public Service chalk face at Glasgow City Council.
