Despite the fact that 2nd generation translation technology tools have been on the market for over five years, surveys suggest that 1st generation tools are still being used to some degree for various reasons.
This presentation will highlight the reasons for the increased importance of TEnTs in our industry today by referencing to the current boom we are enjoying, contributed by globalisation, which both present opportunities for the professional translator as well as challenges. In order for our industry to cope with this new global demand for translation services, cutting-edge translation tools have been adopted by the majority of translation companies, which translators need to master to become and/or remain competitive.
What do TEnTs have to offer and why should we want to use them?
Could someone please clarify what TEnT stands for? Thanks.
Hello Annika. TEnT stands for Translation Environment Tool.
