Myriam Salama-Carr is Honorary Research Fellow at Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies at the University of Manchester. A graduate of ESIT, the Ecole supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs, Paris, she has worked as a freelance and staff translator ( from Arabic and English into French) prior to joining academia where she was involved in the training of translators and interpreters for 30 years.
She has published extensively in the field of translation studies and she is currently Director of the National Network for Translation and Chair of the Training Committee of IATIS, the International Association for Translation and Intercultural Studies.
