If you went to the 2013 ITI conference you may have heard or participated in the “Singing Translators” event in the closing ceremony. It certainly seemed popular with both audience and singers.
Singing is known to be wonderful therapy. It engages both body and mind, and stimulates the production of endorphins. What better complement to your weekend of listening to the wonderful speakers at the ITI conference than to involve yourself in the magic of music-making? Whether you have years of singing experience or none at all, we invite you to a short, fun, fringe session, to learn a song from scratch under the direction of Neil Brinkworth. Both men and women will be very welcome (men being particularly encouraged to come out of their shells). It’s not essential to be able to read music as we’ll send both scores and audio teaching files in advance, to give you a flavour of what we’ll be working on.
If you think you might be interested in attending this fringe event please get in touch with Gillian Hargreaves as soon as possible so that we can send out the materials. You won’t actually be committing yourself to participating on the day, though naturally we hope you do.
Gillian Hargreaves and Neil Brinkworth have both been keen singers since school days and are currently membersof Hertfordshire Chorus. Neil is also a skilled vocal trainer with roots in the a cappella tradition.
