Memsource is a complete Cloud translation environment tool that supports over 40 different file formats. It includes translation memory, integrated machine translation and terminology management, in addition to a web-based and desktop translator’s editor.
Some of the world’s leading translation agencies including Moravia, MasterWord Services, Semantix and Honyaku Center, use the environment for mission-critical projects. In total, more than 40,000 Memsource users translate over 100 million words every month.
Memsource offers powerful features, yet it is lightweight, intuitive and fast. A survey carried out in September 2014 indicated that 93% of users were satisfied with Memsource.
Work from anywhere, using your PC or tablet
Memsource is browser-based, which means you can connect to the workbench from any computer, laptop or tablet, and seamlessly transition between devices. Translation memories and glossaries are stored online and accessed with a login and a password. There is no need to install software or to email files.
Unlike many desktop tools, Memsource works on Apple Mac and Linux, not just on Windows PCs.
Offline capability
The downloadable Memsource Editor makes working offline possible without the risk of losing your work. Once an Internet connection becomes available, it automatically re-establishes a connection to your translation memory and terminology in the Cloud.
Translation memory and terminology under control
Memsource supports all major TM features including: TMX import/export, concordance search, wild cards, in-context matches, etc. Translation editors display relevant terms from the termbase while translation, and allow adding or editing terms on the fly. Quality assurance component highlights any problems with the terminology before the project is completed.
Memsource’s story
Memsource was founded by David Canek in Prague, the Czech Republic. The service opened up for public use in the second half of 2011. In the three years that followed, over 30,000 users registered in the system.
