“Managing oneself sustainably in the 21st Century” or “Avoiding Burnout in the 21st Century”
The economically productive proportion of the population (20-50yr olds) in the West continues to diminish over time. In parallel, western economies are increasingly challenged by the rise of “Chindia”. Added to this, western lifestyles are compromising our health and well-being. In 20-50yr olds there is already a rise in serious illness such as cancer, not to mention addictions and mental illnesses. A more pernicious ailment may be a precursor to many of these and could reach epidemic proportions just when people need to be firing on all cylinders to ride through the tough economic times – burnout and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). What are the components of this poorly understood phenomenon? And how can independent professionals learn to manage themselves sustainably in this 24/7 high-pressure world where there are few boundaries around work time and space?
This presentation will be given on Sunday morning by Siobhan Soraghan. |
