Terry CloughTerry Clough joined the European Commission's interpreting service (now the Directorate General for Interpreting – DG SCIC) in Brussels in 1974 after obtaining a BSc Honours degree in French and Italian from Salford University and a Postgraduate Diploma in conference interpreting from the Polytechnic of Central London. After a long career interpreting in meetings at all levels and in a wide variety of areas, in 1998 he was appointed Head of DG SCIC's English Interpreting Unit with a staff of over 70. Since 2003, he has been Head of Department IV, responsible for the Slovenian, Italian, Dutch, Danish and Romanian interpreting units.
