Miss Silvia Ferrero – Biographical notes
Silvia Ferrero is a freelance translator and interpreter working from English into Spanish. She holds a BA degree in English Philology from the University of Zaragoza and an MA degree from the University of Salford. She specialises in software and website localisation, environment, corporate material, public service and tourism. In addition, she has 5 years experience in the games localisation industry, having worked for one of the industry-leading companies, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. Recently, she set up MediaLoc, a group of translators offering localisation services to the games industry in a wide range of European languages, which has already attracted interest from some of the major players.
Silvia is an Associate of the ITI and the Chair of the North-West Translators’ Network. She is very involved in the North-West language community and has been invited as a speaker by the Universities of Salford and Manchester. Miss Ferrero will be giving a paper entitled Towards sustainability in the games localisation industry . |
